It is often felt as a burning or stabbing pain. One example of neuropathic pain is a pinched nerve. A common experience of those who have neuropathic pain is\u00a0phantom limb pain. While there is no\u00a0single cause of neuropathic pain, common causes include alcoholism, amputation, chemotherapy, diabetes, AIDS,\u00a0shingles, and spine surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-color-1-color has-text-color\"><strong>Treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-color-1-color has-text-color\">Neuropathic pain can be treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like Aleve.\u00a0Some patients may require stronger medicines. Unfortunately, neuropathic pain often responds poorly to standard pain treatments and occasionally may get worse over time.
