We advise the patients to take it easy for a day or so after the procedure. You may need to apply ice to the affected area for 20-30 minutes at a time for the next day. Perform the activities as tolerated by you. The injections may cause a flare-up of back pain after the injection, but this gets better in a day or two. You must have a ride home from the procedure.
Call your doctor if you notice any of the following symptoms:
- New severe pain
- Persistent new headaches
- Fever or chills
- Loss of bladder control or numbness that persists or worsens beyond a few hours
- Significant redness or swelling around the injection site
